GROOVE SCIENCE (aka Alexander) is the 32-year-old artist, scientist, entrepreneur, game developer, and music producer from Denver, CO. A virtual reality visionary since 2013, Alexander came out of early retirement and created the world's very first virtual music venue by combining his passion for live music and immersive gaming experiences. Being first is only the beginning for Alexander though, every day he transmutes his imagination into reality so that Soundscape fans are always surprised at what they find waiting for them.

GROOVE SCIENCE (aka Alexander), is the 32-year-old artist, scientist, entrepreneur, game developer, and music producer from Denver, CO. A Virtual Reality visionary since 2013, Alexander created the world's very first virtual music venue after combining his passion for live music and immersive gaming experiences. With projects ranging from paintings to custom illuminated gadgets, he has become well-known for his many futuristic works despite his total abstinence from traditional social media. A longtime member of the festival and Burning Man community, he has delighted fans across North America. Alexander attributes his creative drive to the incredible visuals found in nature both large and small, from the brilliant distant galaxies to the tiniest bioluminescent microorganisms, he strives to create works with the same otherworldly appeal. Described as a magician of light, he is determined to continue to find ways to make great experiences even greater, sharing them for the world to enjoy in a new digital frontier.

Dan has a degree in design from James Madison University and a passion for music led him down a path that transitioned his career in government into one of music over the past several years.  He now has extensive experience working with both musicians and in the festival circuit.

Director of Marketing Outreach

Matt Hogan brings over 15 years of music industry experience to Soundscape VR. He spent 10 years as GM/VP of Marketing for SCI Fidelity Records in Boulder, where he was responsible for managing and promoting releases from The String Cheese Incident, Umphrey's McGee, The Disco Biscuits, Keller Williams, Railroad Earth, Lotus and many more. Most recently, Matt was Director of Sales and Business Development for JamBase, working with promoters, festivals, artists and record labels to reach live music lovers nationwide. When he’s not attending concerts or festivals, Matt can be found skiing, traveling, hiking with his dog, and spending time with his family.

Ryan Johnson

Visualization Engineer

Ryan is a tech guru who started off as a physicist at Berkeley.  He has contributed to several startups and is a longtime musician as well as a programmer who can tackle any challenge.  A lover of sci-fi, his interest in VR bloomed out of a desire to provide people with both fun and mind--and space- and time-, while we’re at it--bending experiences unlike any other.  In his free time, Ryan shreds on guitar, bikes up mountains, dances ecstatically, is an active yoga and meditation practitioner, and Deadhead.

Benjamin Kepner

Social Media Marketing Director

Benjamin Kepner is a University of Georgia alumni in Marketing and
International Business with 16 years of Spanish and 3 years of
Mandarin Chinese studies. He lived in Spain and has internationally
traveled to 13 countries. His love of learning is demonstrated by
community involvement as a Google for Education Certified Trainer and
Director of Social Media for MHYP. STS9 and String Cheese Incident
inspire his travels to major music festivals across the country. He
can be found thriving in Denver technology, hiking 14ers, snowboarding
the Rockies, growing Global Social Media Marketing, and experiencing his
favorite concert venue Red Rocks.

George Rocha is a 25-year-old developer from San Jose, CA. He graduated from UC Santa Cruz with a degree in Computer Science: Computer Game Design, where he received hands-on experience working in VR and creating development tools. He prides himself on his flexibility, easy-going attitude, and problem-solving skills. When not developing new systems for VR games, he enjoys writing and reading fiction, cosplaying, playing tabletop games, and practicing new tunes on his keyboard.

Matt Treece is an abstract thinker and conceptual artist working across various digital mediums with a background in the marketing, cannabis, and startup world. Going by his online artist moniker, Eceertrey, he has had various artworks featured in art galleries around the world. Originally from Cincinnati with a background in photojournalism, the electronic music festival scene, and working for years as a live event photographer and projection mapper for musical artist. In his free time he photographs landscapes and renders in abstract objects creating mixed realities. He also likes flying drones, trail running, snowboarding, drinking IPA’s, and sculpting objects in VR.
